I hate to say it, but, brace yourselves. This is only the beginning of the meltdown, IMO. IMO the left does not seem to know what they believe in, yet seem to sway with the winds of public opinion. Immediately after 9/11 I recall them standing on the steps of Congress, singing in unity while following step with the Presidents plan for war. Then suddenly, they changed their collective mind(s), and when it seemed politically correct to do so, (election 2004,) they flipped like a fish out of water. They then assembled the 9/.11 commission, which seemed to waver back and forth between 'did we respond enough' or 'did we respond too heavily?' In other words, there are people like us who are firm in our beliefs, though we may not always agree. But, there are others, who seem not to believe in anything towards the immediate acquisition of power - to defeat of their enemies. Politicians, by their very nature, sway when public opinion poll winds began to blow, and since their paradigm is to "win" elections, power and control of the $$purse$; they seem to lose whatever convictions they once had, and instead adopt a "buy more votes" mentality. In BO's case, he is bambi, a mere babe in the woods, I believe he is being controlled like a marrionette puppet.
But, what we need to do is to examine as many facets of the situation as possible. For example, if there were a pattern of attacks on one city, one target, perhaps one building, like the World Trade Center, knowing that it could cause a financial collapse of a great empire, and then finally, it was attacked in a brutal way and completely obliterated, one might say that that was the time to retaliate, to fight the war on their turf, as they said, rather than here at home. I believe that this war was an act of retaliation, to stop terrorist attacks on our homeland and abroad, in the spirit of unity of a coalition of nations standing together in protest to terrorism.
Further, I also believe there was a noble intention layered in- one that resulted in perhaps millions of people being freed from the tyranny of a family of brutal, torturous dictators. I say this as a friend of many soldiers, some of whom I correspond with as a Soldier's Angel, that tell me stories of Iraqi's jumping and crying for joy, embracing the American soldier and calling them 'Angels of Freedom.' Inviting them into their homes for tea, and telling them stories of their brother, father, uncle's, who were tortured and murdered under the brutal dictatorship of the Sadaam regime. Can anyone see the advantage of helping a nation of brothers & sisters to experience the joy of freedom, liberty and yes, even the fairness of capitalism and the pursuit of the American dream? IMO, it is easy to sit here in America and lament the ugliness of war. But, imagine living in a place where you are not free to leave your home, to work and feed your family, but you live instead in fear?
I know, your probably laughing at me, my true colors showing. But, I believe some things are worth fighting for, and yes, even dying for. Obama is going to spin and flip so much you are going to be dizzy in no time. Reality sets in and the pie in the sky ideals for peace are occasionally, if not rarely, shattered, especially when terrorism lands in your own front yard.
By no means do I say this in support of Bambi in any way. I am repulsed by him and the culture of corruption that he comes from. I am bewildered why people are so hypnotized by he and his wife, who is only now, for the first time, proud of "her" country. Why the march towards socialism, which has never worked and makes everyone equal- in their misery?
So, in conclusion I will say that I love peace and hate war as much as anyone else. But, I believe the issues are much more complex and worthy of our discussion.
